How to Fix a Corrupted Id-Storage in the PSP

As easy as it is to mod your PSP, it is just as easy to ruin it. Sometimes, the various firmware and home brewed apps do not always play well together. Memory leaks, incompatibility issues, and corrupted files can get tricky if you're a frequent modder. Luckily, there are plenty of recovery tools to get your PSP back into working order.

  1. Fixing corrupted ID keys

    • 1

      Copy KeyCleaner folder onto the PSP's memory via memory card. For custom firmware users, copy to GAME150 folder (or the equivalent of your firmware).

      Run the program. You will be given three options; select ANALYZE TA-082/86. Depending on your PSP's configuration, this process may take a few minutes.

      Select the FIX KEYS option. It will ask you to verify what you want to do. Proceed with fixing.

      Wait as Keycleaner checks each individual key for errors. If it prompts you, do not unpatch KEY 5. Eventually, KeyCleaner will display the CONGRATULATIONS screen indicting that the process is complete.

      Restart your PSP.
