Removing the original Faceplate or Skin
Remove the battery.
Remove the screws from your PSP. Located on the underside of the device are five screws that need to be removed. Remember where each screw goes because they are different sizes. Pull from the bottom of the PSP and it will disconnect, followed by the top side.
On front side of the PSP, remove the rubber surrounding the gameplay buttons and direction pad. Remove the buttons and directional pad themselves. Near the bottom of the PSP there is a black button strip that needs to be removed. Slowly peel that off. Remove the rubber gasket that covers the analog stick. Underneath the gasket you just removed are two screws that need to be removed. Remove them carefully to prevent cracking the faceplate.
Using your new faceplate, reattach the analog stick along with the mechanism that you previously removed. Tighten with screws. Reattach all the buttons along with their appropriate rubber coverings. Reassemble your PSP by using the screws you originally removed from Step 1. Reinsert the battery.
