How to Make a Magic Memory Stick for the PSP Slim

Used with a Pandora battery, the magic memory stick will install custom firmware onto your PSP. Custom firmware will allow you to use consumer created games on your PSP.

Things You'll Need

Memory Stick Pro Duo between 256MB and 4GB
Windows PC running either Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
Any PSP or Memory Stick reader
Rain MMS Maker v1.0 9
Official 4.01 firmware

  Download and extract all the necessary files first to make things easier. Right-click "Extract Here." Insert your Memory Stick Pro Duo into your computer's card reader or connect your PSP to your PC via the USB cable. Open Rain's MMS Maker by double-clicking it. If using Vista or Windows 7, right-click "'run as administrator."

  From the first drop-down menu, select "4.01 ofw/m33-2." Click "Load EBOOT" on the right side of the drop-down menu and select the 4.01.pbp that you saved and extracted to your computer. Locate your PSP drive on the second drop-down menu. Set the Pandora Trigger to "L" if it is not set that way already. This is in the third drop-down menu.

  Click "Make MMS." Sit back and relax as the program creates the magic memory stick for you. The program will tell you when it is finished. You now have a magic memory stick that when used with Pandora's battery and you can download and install custom firmware to any PSP.
