How to Hook a PSP Up to a TV

The PSP, or PlayStation Portable, is a hand-held video game console that is typically used as a stand-alone device. But when you're at home, you can connect your PSP to a television to play games or watch movies--if you have the correct connection cable.

  Obtain a PSP connection cable. This is an RCA cable that is made specifically for the PSP. It is manufactured by Sony. See additional resources for a link to purchase this cable.

  Connect the component cable to your PSP. To do this, simply plug the cable where the headphones usually go. There will be an additional input piece that will fit into the PSP as well.

  Plug the component cables into your television by plugging the yellow video cable into the video input on the TV and red and white audio cables into the audio inputs on the TV.

  Set your television to the input so that it will display from an external device. This will often be Input 1 or input 2 on your television.

  Turn on your PSP and the video should now display on your television.
