Preparation
Insert your PlayStation game into your computer's disc drive.
Use PowerISO or similar CD ripping software to rip the game file from the game disc onto your computer's hard drive. Save the output file as .bin.
Use Photoshop or a similar image editing program to create the image that will be displayed on the PSP's game selection menu. The image should measure 144x80 pixels and should be titled Icon0.png.
Use Photoshop or a similar image editing program to create the image that will be displayed in the background while saving a game on the PSP. The image should measure 480x272 pixels and should be titled Pic1.png.
Place the ripped game file and the two images you created into the same folder.
Converting the Game
Go to the endlessparadigm.com website and click on "Download v3.00 beta (610KB)", to download the beta version of Simple Popstation GUI. This program will convert the three files you created into an eboot.pbp file that can be read by the PSP.
Unzip all of the Simple Popstation GUI files into one folder.
Double click on PopstationGUI.exe to open the program. Click on "Browse" and select the ripped .bin game file.
If your CD ripping software created a .cue file in addition to the .bin, you will be prompted to select this file as well. Select "Yes."
If the "Game Region" section is incorrect or empty, click on "Change Game Save and Game ID..." Each game released for the PlayStation has a unique ID number, depending on the country where it was released. Enter the correct ID number and hit "OK." (For a list of all game ID's for PlayStation games, see the Resources section below.)
The images you created will automatically be added. There is no need to manually browse for and add them. Click on "Customize the EBOOT (-)" to confirm this.
Click "Go..." to begin the conversion process. This can take a few minutes, depending on the size of the game file.
Putting the Game on the PSP
Transfer the converted game to your PSP. Simple Popstation GUI automatically prompts you to do this, but let's do it manually. The converted file can be found inside a folder in the same directory as the ripped .bin file. It should contain a single file called eboot.pbp.
Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable.
Turn on your PSP and go to Settings > USB connection to enter USB mode. This will cause your computer to detect the PSP as an external hard drive.
Open the PSP drive on your computer and navigate to the PSP\Game folder.
Copy the folder containing the eboot.pbp file into your PSP's Game folder.
Exit USB mode, disconnect your PSP from the computer, and enjoy your new game!
