How to Erase Information From a PSP

The PSP is a very powerful portable device which not only is used to play next generation mobile games, but is capable of playing video and audio files, as well as displaying photographs. The problem is getting those files into and back out of the PSP in order to watch your home movies on the go, listen to your favorite rock band or go through your family pictures. There are multiple methods of accomplishing this, allowing you to unlock the full potential of your PSP.

      Locate the Magic Gate memory stick duo slot, and insert memory stick. You will hear a slight click. Turn the PSP on.

      Navigate through the icons until you locate the desired location, such as Photos, Music, Video or Games. Highlight the desired file to delete and press the triangle button. A menu will appear on the right side of the PSP screen.

      Navigate to "delete" and press the "X" button.

      Delete files via a USB cable as another option. Once plugged in, the PSP will automatically be placed into USB mode. This allows you to manipulate the files located on the memory stick by selecting the appropriate folder. Find the file you wish to delete, and move it to the trash or recycle bin on your computer.

      Completely erase the PSP memory stick to delete all files. Turn on the PSP and navigate to System Settings, then Format Memory Stick. Select "Yes." This will completely erase your memory stick, replacing it with the necessary empty folders to fill with your music, videos and photos.
