How to Install Windows Vista on Playstation Portable

Although the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) cannot actually handle the Windows Vista operating system, you can download a portal that takes its appearance. This portal will give your PSP a personal digital assistant-style interface that runs smoothly and give you quick access to numerous applications, basically allowing you to use the PSP as a personal digital assistant.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet-connected computer
  • Sony PlayStation Portable with Flash and WMA playback
  • Memory stick with at least 1.5MB of free space
  • PSP USB cable

      Download the necessary software from http://www.download.com/3001-7242_4-10539062.html using your computer's Internet connection. Unzip the file that you downloaded and remember where you saved it.

      Plug the small end of your PSP USB cable into your PSP. Plug the other end of the cable into the USB slot on your computer.

      Select "USB Connection" from the PSP settings menu. Go back to your computer and find the new drive that holds the PSP's memory card.

      Go back to the directory where you initially unzipped the download. Copy the entire "pspwxp" folder from that directory and paste it into the main root folder of your PSP's drive. Press the "Circle" button on the PSP to disconnect the USB connection.

      On the PSP, go to the Network Menu and open the Internet browser. Type "file:/pspwxp/index.htm" into the address bar. Press the "Enter" button.

      Press the "Triangle" button to make Vista full screen. Now you are able to use Vista on your PSP and treat your PSP like a personal digital assistant. Repeat steps 5 and 6 any time you wish to load Vista.
