How to Put Movies Onto a PSP From a Mac

The PSP, or Playstation Portable, as it is more properly called, is a type of handheld gaming system. However, in addition to playing games, the PSP has many other functions. One of these functions is the ability to play movies on the device. Adding movie files to a PSP using the Microsoft Windows operating system is the common, but a similar process can be performed to add movie files onto the PSP using a Mac computer.

Instructions

      Convert the movie file to the proper format for playback on the PSP. MP4 is the proper PSP movie file format. If the file is not formated correctly, download a file converter program and change the file type.

      Connect one end of the USB cord to the top of the PSP, and connect the opposite end into the USB port of your Mac computer.

      Press the PSP left arrow key until "Settings" is highlighted and press "X." Scroll through the list and press "X" when "USB Connection" is highlighted.

      Wait for the memory stick icon to appear on your desktop and double click it. Choose "PSP," then "Video" from the memory stick menu. Drag or copy and paste the movie files from your computer's hard drive into the PSP's video folder.

      Disonnect the USB cord from the computer and the PSP. Slide over to the video icon and click on the movie file from the list to make sure the movie will play back properly.
