How to Charge a PSP Battery

When you purchase a Sony Playstation Portable (PSP), you want to care for the battery to ensure it lasts a long time. You can use several methods to keep your PSP charged, and your Sony PSP will come with many of the devices needed to do this, including an AC power cord.

  Follow the first-time charging requirements for your Sony PSP. Insert the battery pack into the device and connect the AC adapter.

  Plug the AC cord into an electrical wall outlet and check to see if the power light of the PSP has turned orange. Once it is finished charging, the light will go out. Wait until it is fully charged prior to initial use and set up.

  Check the battery status on the top right corner of the screen. When the battery appears empty, the PSP battery needs to be recharged. Many users find that draining the battery before recharging can extend the life of the PSP battery.
