How to Transfer WinRAR Files to PSP

The Sony PSP handheld gaming console comes with a USB cable that allows you to transfer files over from your computer. Unfortunately, the PSP isn't able to read RAR archive files, so you will need to extract them into a format that the console can use by using an RAR extractor program.

Power on your computer, and then open your web browser by double-clicking on its desktop icon. Navigate to a website that offers an RAR extraction program for download such as "WinRAR" (see Resources below).

Click on the "Downloads" section and then scroll down to the actual download link. Click on it and wait a moment for a new window to pop up. Click the "Save File" button at the bottom of the new window.

Wait for the installation file to finish downloading, and then navigate to the folder where your downloaded files are saved. Double-click on the file, and then follow the instructions on the screen to install the RAR extraction program.

Navigate to the folder that has the RAR file you want to transfer to the Sony PSP. Right-click on the file, and then choose "Extract here..." from the new menu that will pop up.

Connect a USB cable from the PSP to an open USB port on your computer. Press the "Home" button on the Sony PSP to access the main menu. Use the arrow keys to scroll down through the menu, and then select "Settings."
