How to Convert Music Videos to PSP MP4s

Although the PSP is a great portable media device, it can only play back certain formats. If you like watching music videos on the go, you will have to convert videos that are in the AVI, or WMV format to the MPEG-4, or MP4, format in order for them to be compatible with the PSP. Luckily, with the help of some freeware software you can convert your favorite music videos to the right format and watch them whenever you want!

  Gather all the music videos you want to convert in put them in a single folder. It doesn't matter if they are in various formats; just make sure that each file is a music video you want converted for your PSP.

  Download a free video conversion tool. The two most popular tools are PSP Video 9 and Format Factory. See Resources below for links to both of these programs.

  Open the file conversion tool, and click on the Browse button. Select the folder you created in step one from the new window. If you are using Format Factory you will need to select "All to MP4" from the top bar once you have located the files.

  Press "Start Conversion." The files will begin converting and a status bar will tell you how long you can expect to wait. Note: the files will automatically go to a destination folder in your My Documents folder, but if you want them to go somewhere else you can specify a different target folder before hitting the Conversion button. In Format Factory, this option is on the right. In PSP Video, you will have to go to the Settings tab to modify where your files end up.
