Things You'll Need
Instructions
Power off the PSP and plug the small end of the mini-USB cord into the PSP's data port. Then plug the large end into a USB 2.0 port. If you are unsure which USB ports on your computer conform to the 2.0 protocol, consult your owner's manual.
Turn on your PSP. It should automatically detect the connection to the computer, and go into "USB" mode. This will be indicated by a USB symbol flashing on screen. If you don't see this symbol flashing, check your connection and try plugging the cable in again.
Wait for your computer to recognise the PSP. A few windows will pop up indicating that the computer has recognised the PSP, and you will need to install some drivers in order to use the device properly. Click through the prompts and wait for the downloads to finish before proceeding.
Go to "My Computer." You should see a little PSP icon. Click on it to open your PSP. Since the connection has been established you can now transfer your favorite movies and music from your computer to your PSP.
