How to Perform Full System Restore for a Sony PSP Lite

If your PSP freezes up or starts running slower than usual, one of the first troubleshooting steps you can take is to perform a "system restore." This restore will revert your PSP to factory settings, which means your current system firmware will be erased. However, since all of your game saves, music and video content are stored on your PSP's memory stick, you do not have to worry about losing your content when you do a system restore.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PSP as you normally would and then scroll all the way to the left side of the cross media bar until you reach the "Settings" area. It is represented by a toolbox icon.

    • 2

Scroll down through the settings menu until you find the "System Settings" icon. Press X to bring up a new menu.

    • 3

Select "Restore Default Settings" from the system settings menu. Press X. A dialogue box will pop up asking if you are sure you want to restore your default settings. Highlight the "yes" option and press the X button. The process will begin automatically.
