Visit the sony PSP website by going to: http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates/PSP/PC.html
Click the Download Now button, which is located under Step 3 under the "Download Procedure."
Verify that the file will be saved with the name "EBOOT.PBP" and save it to your desktop.
Connect your PSP to your computer via the USB cable. When the cord is plugged in, select "USB Connection" under the Settngs menu on your PSP.
Let the PSP window open up on your desktop. This will take a minute, so be patient. From the window, select "View Files."
Select the Games folder from the open window.
Select and save the file into the Update folder. If there is not an Update folder already made, make one by right clicking your mouse and selecting "New Folder." Save the folder with the name "Update."
Safely remove your PSP from your computer by right clicking and selecting "Safely Remove" from the green arrow icon in the tray on the bottom left of your computer's screen.
Use the right arrow key on your PSP to highlight the Game icon from the PSP menu.
Scroll down and click on the "Memory Stick" icon. This is usually the last icon in the list.
Click the PSP Update icon and follow all of the instructions that it tells you to follow. You will now have the latest version of firmware on your PSP.
