Things You'll Need
Instructions
Find out how much space you have on your PSP. Since the PSP has a limited amount of internal memory, a memory card with at least 512 MB is recommended for media storage.
Create special photo and music folders on your desktop. Drag all of the photos and music you want into these folders, and make sure that you have enough space for them on your media card. You can check how much data is in each folder by highlighting it and right-clicking to bring up a submenu, then selecting "Properties" to view the total file size. You will need a 25-MB "buffer" in order for your transfer to be successful. If it is over the limit, you will need another memory card, or you will need to remove some media.
Use a mini-USB cord to connect your PSP to your computer. Connect the small end of the cord to the PSP and plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your computer. If this is the first time you have connected your PSP to the computer, you will need to install some drivers before moving to the next step. This process is automated and merely requires you to click through some prompts. When you are finished, your PSP will enter USB Mode.
Go to the "My Computer" menu and select your PSP. Then find the appropriate media storage folders, labeled "photos" and "music". Simply drag the contents of the folders you created on your desktop into these new folders to initiate the transfer process. A status bar will pop up letting you know that the transfer is in progress. Once this window disappears, the transfer is complete.
Disconnect your PSP. Press the circle button on your PSP to exit the USB mode. You may then safely unplug the cords. Your photos and songs will now be available on the PSP's cross-media bar.
