The Memory Stick Duo, also called Memory Stick PRO Duo, is the PSP's primary memory storage unit, with Duo sizes ranging from 1GB to 16GB. Even with a 16GB card, eventually you will find yourself needing additional memory space. When this occurs, you can erase files on your Duo directly from the PSP. Deleting a file instantly erases it from your PSP, freeing up the space that file took. However, there is no way to recover files that you delete. Make sure you do not delete any important files such as a cherished game save.

Select the media icon on your PSP that corresponds to the file type you want to delete. For example, select the "Game" icon to delete gaming files.

Select the "Memory Stick" icon, highlight the file on your memory card you want to delete and press the "Triangle" button.

Select "Delete" and then select "Yes" to delete the selected file.

Repeat the steps to delete additional files from your PSP system.
