How to Install 6.20 to My PSP 1001 5.03

All versions of the PlayStation Portable (PSP), including 1001, can be connected to the Internet for online game play and software updating. The PSP 1001, otherwise known as the ̶0;fat̶1; PSP, is the older of the two PSP model types. If your PSP system software is still using update 5.03 or another outdated update, you can install a newer update, such as 6.20, to it with the update utility. If update 6.20 isn̵7;t the latest update, it will install during the update process and then the latest update will be installed over it.

     Return to the home screen on your PSP and select the ̶0;Settings̶1; option from the main menu.

     Choose the ̶0;Network Settings̶1; category from the Settings menu and then select ̶0;Network Update.̶1;

     Click the ̶0;Download (receive data)̶1; button in the menu and select the ̶0;Update (software update)̶1; option. Your PSP 1001 will now be updated from 5.03 to 6.20.
