Supported Video File Formats
Your PSP is capable of playing MPEG-4 Simple Profile AAC, MPEG-4-AVC Main Profile AAC and Baseline Profile AAC and MotionJPEG AVI video files. But you may still encounter an ̶0;unsupported data error̶1; message if the video file contains a screen resolution larger than 320 pixels by 240 pixels. If playing a wide-screen format video file, the maximum screen resolution is 368 pixels by 208 pixels. You may also encounter an ̶0;unsupported data error̶1; message if the MP4 file has been converted from another format, contains coding that the PSP cannot process or the file has a problem loading within your PSP system. Also, your PSP cannot play standard AVI files. The AVI files must be MotionJPEG AVI files.
Video File Issues
Your PSP is also capable of playing Memory Stick video format, Motion JPEG - Linear PCM and Motion JPEG -μ-Law video files. But your PSP cannot play any video format that has a running time longer than 6 hours and 30 minutes. You will receive an unsupported data error message if you do play a media file that exceeds this time limit. You may also encounter an unsupported data error message from media files you download from websites on the Internet. The files may not be true MPEG-4, MotionJPEG AVI or another compatible PSP format.
Supported Audio Formats
Your gaming device is capable of playing Memory Stick audio format, MPEG-3, ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus, MPEG-1/2 Audio Layer 3, MPEG-4 AAC, Windows Media Audio and WAVE ̵1; Linear PCM audio files. Your PSP is not compatible with other audio formats and you will receive an unsupported data error message if you try to play the files. The PSP also cannot play copyright-protected Windows Media Audio files that contain a digital license. These files can only be played with Windows Media Player or a music player that lets you transfer the license to the device.
Supported Photo Formats
Your PSP is also capable of displaying Tagged Image File Format, JPEG, Graphics Interchange Format, Bitmap and Portable Network Graphics image files. But your PSP may not display images that are large in file size even if the images are in a format the gaming device can display. Also, you may not be able to view images that have been edited by a graphics manipulation or images that have been alerted using a computer application. If the photo file cannot be displayed, you will receive an ̶0;unsupported data error̶1; message on your PSP̵7;s screen.
