How to Boost WiFi for the PSP With an External Antenna

The WiFi feature connected to your Playstation Portable allows you to connect to other PSP consoles which are in the surrounding vicinity of yourself. Depending on the strength of your WiFi signal, it can often be difficult to pick up certain PSP consoles from a distance. However, You can purchase an external WiFi dongle that can connect to the USB port on your PSP. This will allow you to boost the WiFi signal without altering the internal components of the PSP.

  Purchase an external PSP USB WiFi antenna.

  Plug the external USB antenna into the rectangular USB port at the top of your PSP.

  Turn on your PSP and wait for it to load up. Turn the "Wireless Adapter" switch on the left side of your PSP to the "On" position.

  Select the "Network Settings" option and then choose "Infrastructure." Click on the "New Connection" option. Select the WiFi network you would like to connection from the list of those available. Your PSP will now search for a WiFi connection at a greater distance.
