How to Change the Language on KH: BBS

"Kingdom Heart: Birth by Sleep" (KH: BSS) by Square Enix is a role-playing game exclusive to the PlayStation Portable (PSP) platform. The original North American release of the game was translated only into English, but subsequent releases, specifically the European and collector's editions, include translations into several languages. However, there is no in-game opportunity to choose a language. Instead, "KH: BBS" uses the default language of the PSP system on which it is running. To change the in-game language, you have to change the PSP's default language setting.

Instructions

  Verify that your edition of "KH: BSS" has multiple translations. Only the European and collector's editions have this feature. The version will be indicated on the packaging or, if you downloaded the game from the PlayStation network, on the receipt.

  Turn on the PSP. If your copy of "KH: BBS" is in UMD format, take it out of the PSP's UMD drive before turning the unit on.

  Press the "Left" arrow button after the PSP's menu screen loads, or push the joystick left to scroll through the menu until the "Settings" icon is highlighted. Press the "X" button to enter the "Settings" menu.

  Press the "Down" arrow button or push the joystick downward until the "System Settings" menu item is highlighted. Press the "X" button to enter the "System Settings" menu.

  Scroll down until the "System Language" menu option is highlighted. Press "X" to enter the "System Language" screen.

  Scroll up or down to highlight the language you want use. Press "X" to select the language. Your PSP's default language will be changed to the one you selected. "Kingdom Heart: Birth by Sleep" will now use that language during game play.

  Insert the "KH: BBS" UMD into the PSP's UMD drive or, if you downloaded the game, open it from the PSP's "Game" menu to play the game. The PSP's default language can be changed at any time by following the procedure described above.
