Movies
The Sony PSP allows you to watch movies in one of three ways. The first way is to purchase PSP movies, which are stored on universal media discs or UMDs, from retail stores or online. Both new and used movies are for sale. The second way is to copy a movie from your computer onto a memory stick. You can then insert the memory stick into your PSP and watch movies from anywhere. For sound, you can either listen to the movie through the built-in speakers, or plug in a pair of headphones for extra privacy. The third way is to create a PlayStation Network account and download movies directly from the PlayStation Store onto your PSP.
Music
You can also listen to music on your PSP using a memory stick. Simply transfer your music collection -- be it a play list, an album or a collection of random songs -- onto the memory stick and insert it into your PSP. With music and movies stored, the PSP becomes a multi-media device that fits in your back pocket and eliminates the need for separate devices for all of your media needs.
The Games
When the PlayStation 3 was released, most versions did not allow you to play PlayStation 1 video games because the system was not backwards compatible. However, the PSP allows you to download classic PlayStation 1 video games from the PlayStation Store directly onto the device. On top of this, you can also download video game demos for free, allowing you to preview a game before you actually buy it. You can also purchase add-ons to video games you already enjoy. An add-on is simply another map -- or level -- for a game, or another set of characters to control for a game. You can also view trailers to upcoming games.
The Internet And Skype
The PSP comes fully loaded with built-in Wi-Fi and an Internet browser powered by Google, allowing you to access your favorite websites within any hot spot you can find. Before playing a video game or watching a movie, browse the Internet to see what online reviewers are saying about it. You can also use the Internet to play online games on your PSP in real time against other PSP users. The PSP also supports Skype, allowing you to place real time video calls to your inner circle of friends and family.
