Things You'll Need
Instructions
Attach the PSP-to-USB cable to the PSP USB port, which is located directly in the middle of the plastic rim above the PSP screen. Attach the other end to any free USB port on your computer. If your computer does not have any free USB ports, unplug a device you don't plan on using in the next half-hour and plug the cable into that port.
Allow the PSP to automatically set itself to "USB Mode," which occurs whenever it detects a USB connection with a PC. This mode allows you to view the contents of its memory stick and transfer files.
Wait for the computer to automatically detect and open the PSP memory stick. This is an automatic process on most computers. If your computer does not do this, you can access it as if it were a CD-ROM or hard drive. In Windows, you will see it in "My Computer." In Mac OS X and Linux, an icon representing the PSP will appear on the desktop.
Download Popsloader 5.50Gen. This is a file archive that uses the zip format.
Double-click the downloaded zip file to open it. Most modern operating systems have built-in support for zip files, which results in a window opening that displays the contents of the archive. If you are running on an old system or one that doesn't support zip archives, you can download the free program WinZip, WinRAR or 7-Zip to access the file. Simply install the program and repeat this step. When you double-click on the file, the program you downloaded will open the archive instead of your operating system.
Copy the folder named "seplugins" from the Popsloader zip archive to the root folder of your PSP memory stick. This will install Popsloader onto your PSP. Most PSP systems already have an "seplugins" folder, so your operating system may prompt you and ask if you want to overwrite the folder. Click "Yes" to copy the folder over. It will not erase any content already contained in the "seplugins" folder and will just add the new files.
