How to Mute Your PSP

A Sony PSP is a portable multimedia device that allows you to play 3D games, watch movies, play music and view slideshows. While you can regulate your device's volume and make it comfortable for hearing media content, you may also want to mute your device if you simply want to turn off the sound temporarily. Muting your PSP takes only a second to do.

Instructions

      Slide the "Power/Hold" switch upward to remove it from the lock position. When the PSP is in the lock position, the buttons are locked and won't function.

      Locate the sound button beneath your PSP's screen. It has the symbol of a musical note on it.

      Press and hold the sound button for more than one second to mute. You should no longer hear the sound coming through your device's speakers.
