Press the battery "Eject" button on the back of the PSP to pop the battery cover off of the unit. Pull out the battery.
Insert the magic memory stick, known as a MMS, into the PSP's memory stick adapter. Insert the jigkick battery into where you removed the default PSP battery. The PSP will turn on and show the "Pandora Battery Recovery Menu."
Press the "X" button to agree to the risks of reinstalling PSP firmware, then press it again to install the firmware. The PSP firmware is reinstalled.
Press the "X" button to power down the PSP when the reinstallation completes. Insert the default PSP battery and remove the MMS from the adapter.
Turn on the PSP. Your PSP will now be back to factory settings. It canthen be updated to the most recent version of Sony firmware.
