Place the PSP on the side with its screen and press the battery eject button to remove the PSP battery.
Pull out any memory cards that may be inside the PSP and insert the magic memory stick into the PSP.
Insert the service tool battery, also known as a Pandora battery and jigkick battery, into the place where you pulled out the default PSP battery. The PSP will turn on and the "Pandora Battery Recovery Menu" will come up.
Press the X button on the PSP to select the unbricking option on the Pandora battery menu.
Press the X button again to agree to the risks involved in this process to unbrick the PSP. The PSP system files are recovered and the program asks you to shut off the PSP. Press the X button to do so.
Insert the default PSP battery to complete the procedure. Next time you turn the PSP on it will be a fully working handheld device.
