Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn the PSP over and remove the battery cover from the rear of the handheld. Remove the battery.
Peel off the warranty sticker on the inside of the battery compartment. This will expose four screws.
Remove the four screws on the corners of the battery compartment.
Remove the two screws on the side of the PSP opposite the battery compartment.
Remove the single screw on the bottom of the PSP.
Lift the faceplate off of the PSP. Turn the faceplate over and the rear of the analog joystick will be visible. It is attached with two screws. If the joystick is loose it is likely due to these two screws being loose.
Tighten the screws to secure the joystick to the PSP. If the screws are gone you can purchase two more from a Sony parts retailer or from an electronics store that has old PSP parts.
Replace the faceplate, screws, battery and battery cover.
