How to Install and Load Eboot

Eboot files are executable files for the Sony PlayStation Portable gaming device. While normal PSP games are in the ISO or CSO format, any utilities like emulator programs are in the Eboot format. PlayStation One games that have been converted for use on the PSP are also in the Eboot format as well as PSP game demos. The PSP updates also come in the Eboot format which, when run, upgrades the firmware to the latest version. To run install and load utilities and games in the Eboot format you need custom firmware while the updates and demos run on the official firmware.

Download the official firmware update from the Sony website and save it to your computer.

Create a new folder called "UPDATE" in the "PSP/GAME" folder on the memory stick.

Copy the firmware "Eboot" file you downloaded from your computer to the "UPDATE" folder on the memory stick.

    • 5
