How to Enter Recovery Mode on 5550 Gen D3

5550 Gen D3 is custom firmware for the Sony PSP handheld gaming device. Once installed this firmware allows you to access and download games and media that may have been previously blocked on the device. If you want to get to the main screen of the firmware, you can put the unit into recovery mode. This will take the PSP from its main menu screen to the firmware operating system menu.

Instructions

      Place your PSP face up on a sturdy surface such as a desk or table.

      Press and hold down the "R" button on the PSP. The "R" button is the rectangular button on the top right corner of the unit.

      Press the "Start" button while simultaneously holding the "R" button down. The "Start" button is located on the bottom right side of the PSP.

    • 4

      Wait for the unit to power on. When it does, it will be in recovery mode.
