Things You'll Need
Instructions
Prepare your PSP for a USB Software Update
Plug the PSP into your computer using the USB cable. Also plug the PSP into a power outlet using the PSP power adapter.
Open a browser on your computer, such as Windows Explorer. Navigate to the Memory Stick folder for your PSP (often named "removable storage").
If there is no "PSP" folder on the Memory Stick, create one. Within that folder, create a "GAME" folder.
Within the "GAME" folder, create a folder called "UPDATE." This is where you will save the update data.
Download and Install Latest Version of PSP System Software
On your computer's Internet browser, navigate to the PSP update page on PlayStation.com. In 2011, this site was accessible in the U.S. at http://us.PlayStation.com/support/systemupdates/psp.
On the right side of the screen, select "PC update method." Scroll down on the resulting page and select "Download Now."
Save the update file in the "UPDATE" folder of the PSP Memory Stick. You may close the browser after the download completes.
On your PSP, navigate to "Memory Stick" under the "Game" menu of the home screen.
Select the "PSP Update" file and follow the on-screen instructions on your PSP. The device will restart.
Enable Adobe Flash Player
Power on the PSP. On the home screen, navigate to "System Settings."
Select "Enable Flash Player" then follow the brief on-screen instructions.
The PSP will now play Adobe Flash content in the device browser. To play stand-alone files that you loaded onto your Memory Stick, open the web browser and type: "file:/flash/_____.swf" with the file name in the blank.
