How to Install a 5.50 Gen D-3

CFW 5.50 Gen-3D is custom firmware you can install on your Sony PlayStation Portable device. CFW 5.50 Gen-D3 is installed using a USB cable to connect your PSP to your computer and can only be installed on a PSP 1000 or a PSP 2000. Attempting to install this software on a PSP 3000 may damage your device.

      Connect the USB cable to your computer, then to your PSP.

      Turn on your PSP, then go to "Settings" and "USB Connect." Your PSP will now be recognized on your computer.

      Select 'Settings"; "Themes"; "Backgrounds" and "Original." Running a custom background when installing CFW 5.50 Gen-D3 may corrupt your PSP.

      Right-click the CFW 5.50 Gen-D3 installation file on your computer.

      Select "Extract Files" and select your PSP as the destination.

      Select "Game" on your PSP, then select "XGen Updater."

      Select "Flash Install CFW 5.50 GEN-D3" to install the custom firmware.
