How to Convert PBP to PSX

On Nov. 21, 2006, Sony released PlayStation Portable (PSP) system software version 3.00. This update gave the PSP the capability to play games created for the original PlayStation (also know as PSX, now officially "PSone"). PSone games are packaged into PBP files for use with a PSP. However, it's possible to convert PBP files to PSone ISO (disk image) using a software application created for this purpose.

Instructions

    • 1

      Download PSX2PBP.

    • 2

Open the PSX2PSP zip file and extract it to your desktop.

    • 3

      Run PSX2PSP.exe. Select "Classic Mode."

    • 4

Click the button labeled "..." under "ISO/PBP File." This will open a file selection window. Use the file selection window to select the PBP file you wish to convert.

    • 5

Click the "Extract ISO" button. Enter a name for the ISO file, then click "Save." PSX2PBP will extract the PSX ISO from the PBP. It will take approximately two minutes.
