How to Get Wi-Fi on a PSP in T-Mobile Hot Spots

Your Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable) is equipped with wireless Internet connection capability. This means that if you are a T-Mobile HotSpot customer, and you are in an area where T-Mobile offers Wi-Fi wireless broadband Internet access, you can connect your PSP to the Internet wirelessly courtesy of T-Mobile. To establish this connection, however, the PSP's network settings have to be configured properly to pick up the T-Mobile Internet signal. Once the connection is established, you can play games online with other people across the globe on your PSP, as well as enjoy other features that come with connecting your PSP to the Internet.

  Turn on the PSP.

  Press the "Home" button on the PSP. Use the device's arrow buttons to highlight the Network Settings icon (looks like a wrench next to a globe). Press the "X" button to select Network Settings.

  Highlight and select "Infrastructure Mode" from the next menu. Highlight and select "New Connection." You will be prompted to enter a connection name.

  Press the "X" button to bring up the onscreen keyboard. Enter "T Mobile HotSpot." Press "Enter."

  Select "Scan" to conduct a search for available Wi-Fi networks. Select the T-Mobile HotSpot wireless network from the list of available networks. Press the Right Arrow button to go to the next screen.

  Select "None" on the "WLAN Security Setting" screen. Press the Right Arrow button. On the "Address Setting" screen, select "Easy." Press the Right Arrow button.

  Press the "X" button to confirm the settings.

  Select "Test Connection." Information about T-Mobile HotSpot settings should be displayed on the screen, indicating that the PSP is set up correctly to connect to the T-Mobile network. Press the "X" button to end the test.

  Press the "Home" button on the PSP. Highlight and select the Browser icon (labeled "www"). Select "T-Mobile HotSpot" from the menu if prompted.

  Enter your T-Mobile HotSpot user name and password.
