How Can I Unwrite Protect My PSP Memory Card?

There are few things more annoying with video game systems, including Sony's PlayStation Portable, or PSP, than trying to find a saved game, video, song or photo, only to find that it has been deleted or overwritten. Fortunately, most memory cards, including the Memory Stick PRO Duo that's used in the PSP, can be protected so that files do not disappear when you don't want them to.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the slot cover for the Memory Stick PRO Duo port, which is on the lower left-hand side of the unit, by pulling the cover out of the port.

    • 2

Press gently on the Memory Stick PRO Duo so that the built-in mechanism pushes the card out of the port.

    • 3

Pull the Memory Stick PRO Duo from the PSP.

    • 4

Locate and slide the write protection switch on the back of the Memory Stick PRO Duo to lock it.
