Essentials

• There are numerous cheat codes to help you replenish the essentials: money, health and weapons. Enter "U," "D," "L," "R," "X," "X," "L1" and "R1" to get $250,000. Enter "U," "D," "L," "R," "O," "O," "L1" and "R1" to replenish your health. Enter "L," "R," "X," "U," "D," "Square," "L" and "R" to get the first weapons tier. Enter "L," "R," "Square," "U," "D," "Triangle," "L" and "R" to get the second weapons tier. Enter "L," "R," "Triangle," "U," "D," "O," "L" and "R" to get the third weapons tier.

Wanted Level

• As you progress through the game, there will be times you get a wanted level. This is a scale that goes from one star to six stars and determines how badly the law wants to take you down. For example, having one star will cause nearby on-foot policemen to try to arrest you, and six stars forces the army and its tanks after you. Enter "U," "R," "Square," "Square," "D," "L," "O" and "O" to increase your wanted level by one star. Enter "U," "R," "Triangle," "Triangle," "D," L," "X" and "X" to disable the wanted level scale altogether.

Weather

• Unlike many of the earlier games, rain can affect your gameplay. For example, rain makes it a little more difficult to drive. Enter "L," "D," "R1," "L1," "R," "U," "L" and "O" to change to sunny weather. Enter "L," "D," "R1," "L1," "R," "U," L" and "X" to change to clear weather. Enter "L," "D," "L1," "R1," "R," "U," "L" and "Square" to change to overcast weather. Enter "L," "D," "L1," "R1," "R," "U," "L" and "Triangle" to change to rainy weather. Enter "L," "D," "Triangle," "X," "R," "U," "L" and "L1" to change to foggy weather.

Miscellaneous

• Not all cheat codes are designed to assist gameplay; some were included just for amusement or to even provide an additional challenge. Enter "R1," "L1," "L1," "D," "U," "X," "D" and "L1" to speed up the in-game clock. Enter "U," "L1," "D," "R1," "L," "L1," "R" and "R1" to spawn a tank next to you. Enter "U," "L1," "D," "R1," "L," "O," "R" and "Triangle" to give pedestrians weapons. Enter "D," "Triangle," "U," "X," "L1," "R1," "L1" and "R1" to have the pedestrians attack you on sight. Enter "R," "L1," "D," "L1," "O," "U," "L1" and "Square" to have pedestrians randomly follow you.
