How to Use the Tiff Hack on a PSP 1001

The Tiff exploit was one of the first hacks used on the Sony PSP in 2006, and it was used again in 2009 to exploit the 5.03 Sony PSP firmware. The Tiff exploit is simple and requires only a few files to complete the hack on the Sony PSP 1000. This hack simply inserts a single line of unsigned code on the PSP that creates a custom banner across the screen.

      Download the Tiff exploit files from the developer's Website. Attach the PSP's memory stick to the computer's card reader.

      Copy all of the files that you downloaded onto the PSP's memory stick. Insert the memory stick back in the PSP.

      Go to the "Photo" section of the PSP 1000's main menu and select the "Tiff" exploit from the menu that comes up.

      Wait as the Tiff exploit shows up on the screen and the words "Hello World" appear on the PSP 1000's screen. When this occurs, the exploit is finished.
