How to Get Your Magic Level Up in Final Fantasy for PSP

"Final Fantasy," originally released for the NES in 1990, was re-released for the PSP in 2007. Magic does not work the same way in the original "Final Fantasy" as it does in other role-playing games. Magic can only be wielded by a small number of characters, including the black mage and white mage. Each mage can only cast a limited number of spells from each category. For example, the white mages can only cast spells from category one three times before they must replenish their magic at an Inn. You can raise the magic level for each category, allowing your mage to cast more spells before needing to rest, by leveling up your character.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat enemies to earn experience. Enemies can be found any time you are on the map screen, in caves or in dungeons. The stronger the enemy is, the more experience points are gained when it is defeated.

    • 2

Earn enough experience to gain a level. The amount of experience needed for each character can be checked by accessing the "Status" screen and viewing the section "For Level Up." Characters will gain additional levels to their magic when they level up. For example, the white mage may now be able to cast category one spells four times instead of three, and can now cast one category two spell.

    • 3

Buy new spells at any town in the game. A staff on a building indicates a spell shop. A white staff is a white magic store and a black staff is a black magic store. The cost of the spell varies depending on its level. For example, level eight spells cost substantially more than level one spells.
