How to Fix 80020148 on a PSP 3000

If you are receiving an error message with the number "80020148" while attempting to play with your Sony PSP model 3000, the PSP's firmware is out of date. This was a known error that prevented the console from playing certain titles. Sony has long since corrected it with a firmware update. You just need to download the update to your device to get rid of the problem.

      Turn on your Sony PSP 3000.

      Press the "X" button on the front of your PSP. Your PSP will download the necessary system update files automatically. The update will install and your device will reboot itself. You will no longer receive error 80020148 when trying to play games.
