How to Decompress a CSO to an ISO With UMDGen

UMDGen is a program that allows you to create image files to load into your Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) console. The default compression method for PSP media is CSO. CSO files are image files that can contain all the files your console needs to play a game, play music or view movies. The ISO image file format, which users widely use on Windows systems, is similar to the CSO one, albeit less compressed. You can use UMDGen to decompress CSO files into ISO files.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch UMDGen by clicking on the program's shortcut in the Windows "Start" menu.

    • 2

Click on the "File" menu, and then select "Open." Locate the CSO file you want to decompress into an ISO file by using the file browser. Click "Open."

    • 3

Click on the "File" menu again, and then select "Export." Select "ISO image file" in the drop-down menu, and then click on the "Create" button. UMDGen will now decompress the CSO file into an ISO one.
