How to Play ISO Games With Devhook 0.51

DevHook is a homebrew firmware emulation software. Original PlayStation Portable run firmware 1.50. The DevHook emulation installs on the PSP memory card and allows the user to emulate firmware versions up to 3.01. This emulation allows the PSP to run newer firmware games (up to firmware version 3.01) without upgrading the 1.50 original firmware. DevHook also allows users to mount and play ISO/CSO game files directly from the memory card.

      Download DevHook Ultimate Installer v1.5.2 for firmware 1.50.

      Connect the PSP to the computer's USB port. Navigate to "Settings" and "USB" on the PSP and press "X" to make a connection with the computer. Backup all files on the PSP memory stick to the computer.

      On the PSP, navigate to "Settings, System, and Format Memory Stick." Select "Yes" to format the memory stick. When format is complete, reconnect the PSP to the computer.

      Double click the "Ultimate_Installer_v1.5.2_for_1.50.exe" file. In the pop-up window that says, "Welcome to the DevHook 0.51 Install program," click "Next." A window pops up stating "This will install DevHook 0.51 on your PSP with all required files", Click "Next." Select "Full Install," and "Next." Select "I agree with the above terms and conditions" and click "Next." Select the PSP drive letter (E:\, F:\) and click "Next." This will copy all files needed to the PSP memory stick.

      Press the "Circle" button on the PSP to get out of the "USB Transfer" mode. Navigate to the "Game" menu, click the "X" button and select "PSAR Dumper" from the game menu. When the "PSAR Dumper" loads, press the "X" button and turn off the PSP.

      Turn the PSP back on, navigate to the "Settings" menu, and make a USB connection to the computer. When connection is established, open the PSP drive on the computer. Open the "f0" folder, navigate to the "kd" folder and double-click to open. Delete the file "audio.prx." Navigate to the "x:\temp" folder, right-click on the "audio.prx" file and select "copy." Re-open the "kd" folder, right-click and select "paste."

      Open the "dh" folder, right-click, select "New," and "Folder." Right-click and select "Rename," type in "301" and press "Enter." Now move the entire "f0" folder into the newly created "301" folder. Navigate back to the "temp" folder and move all files into the "x:\dh\301\f0\kd" location.

      Navigate to "x:\dh\301\f1," and create six new folders. Name the new folders, "dic," "GPS," "net," "net\http," "vsh," and "vsh\theme." Navigate back to the root folder(x:\) and delete the "temp," "DH_README," folders and the "DevHook Setup.bat" file. Open the "PSP/Game" folders and delete the "PSAR Dumper" file. Disconnect the PSP from the computer and navigate the PSP to the "GAME" menu. Launch "DevHook 0.51" go to "Firmware" menu and select "3.01 firmware." Now when you launch DevHook 0.51, the PSP will boot into the 3.01 firmware.

      Connect the PSP to the computer with the USB connection. Open the PSP drive and navigate to the "dh" folder. Inside the "dh" folder create a new folder and name it "ISO." Now just drag the ISO game files from the computer to the "ISO" folder you created in the "dh" folder on the memory stick. Load DevHook 0.51 and select the "ISO" game under "UMD Select." There must be a UMD game in the UMD drive to play an ISO game so select the "UMD" under "UMD Mount." Make sure the 3.01 firmware is selected and launch.
