Instructions
Remove the battery cover and battery from the system, then locate the warranty sticker under where the battery was and remove it.
Unscrew the seven screws necessary to open up the PSP, located as follows: Two under where the battery was, two on the PSPs backside opposite the battery bay side, and three that go around the bezel that is around the PSP. Lift off the faceplate and set it face down for later.
Slowly lift up the menu bar below the LCD screen, starting with the left side. Once the metal housing is loose, lift up on the right side. A ribbon cable is attached to the menu bar, so gently disconnect it. Then, remove the menu bar completely.
Lift up on the metal bracket that holds the LCD screen in place until all the tabs are disengaged. Pull the screen up starting with the top and remove the ribbon cable attached to it. Set it face down on your PSPs faceplate.
Remove the seven screws from the large metal plate called the LCD plate, then open up the Universal Media Disc (UMD) door on the back of the system. Carefully pry the brace free through the UMD door and remove it.
Remove the screw holding the directional pad in place, also disconnecting the cable while removing the directional pad.
Unplug the cable from the power switchboard on the right side of the system. Pry up the bottom half of the switchboard while sliding the right trigger out of the system's casing. Once that is done, lift the power board up and remove it.
Locate the logic board under the area where the right trigger was. Remove any screws that might be holding it in as well as disconnecting any cables attached to it. Pry the board up from the bottom and remove it.
Remove the wireless board on the left side of the system. There you will see three screws holding a bracket on the wireless board. Remove them and the board should come free.
