How to Use PS3 DualShock to Play PSP

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) Dualshock controller has evolved into a wireless Bluetooth device that eliminates the need for pesky wires and allows a wider range of motion for the player. Because of the wireless technology, your PS3 Dualshock controller can also be synced and used for gameplay with the PSPgo. Unlike the PSP version, the PSPgo has the ability to discover and connect with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as the Dualshock controller.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PlayStation 3 console and PSPgo device.

    • 2

Select the "Bluetooth Device Setting" option from the PSPgo main menu. Click on the "Settings" option and navigate to the "Manage Bluetooth Device" menu. A pop-up message will ask you if you would like to register a new Bluetooth device, select "Yes."

    • 3

Click the "Register a PS3 System Controller" option and select "OK" to continue.

    • 4

Connect the PSPgo device with your PlayStation 3 console using the USB connector cable. Connect a second USB cable from the PS3 DualShock controller with the PlayStation 3 console.

    • 5

Wait until the PSPgo detects the PS3 DualShock controller. Once it has detected the controller, it will pair the PSPgo with the controller wirelessly.

Disconnect the cables and press the PS button located in the middle of the PS3 controller. Instead of turning on the PS3 console, the controller will now be connected to the PSPgo.
