The PlayStation Portable (PSP), is a handheld device that offers two separate built-in gaming systems, wireless Internet access for surfing the net and online gaming, a 16 gigabyte (GB) hard drive for storing music and games and a built-in microphone for chatting with friends through Skype and other online systems. As if all of the PSP's built-in features aren't enough, you can also find plugins for your PSP to add to the device's capabilities.

Audio Plugins
- Several plugins are available to enhance the audio playback capabilities of the PSP. The MP3 Player Plugin for the PSP, for instance, allows users to listen to MP3s through the PSP's speakers, while simultaneously playing games. The PSP Audio Boost plugin increases the volume levels of the PSP, which can be beneficial if you are using the device to view online videos or listen to music regularly.
Visual Plugins
- If you have trouble seeing your PSP screen at times, you may benefit from the installation of a PSP brightness plugin. The PSP Bright and Brightpad plugins increase the PSP's default brightness level and provide controls that allow you to manage the brightness of your PSP screen so you can increase or decrease the brightness when needed.

- If you would like to make changes to default settings on your PSP, you can do so with customization plugins. The DayViewer plugin for the PSP allows you to set the date and time information on the PSP in any format that you want and the CXMB plugin contains custom themes you can use to transform the look of the screens and menus on your PSP.

If you want to experience your game play in 3-D, you can download the PSP 3-D plugin, which works with a number of PSP games, including "Star Wars Battle Front 2," "Gripshift," "Prince of Persia - Rival Swords" and "Metal Gear Solid Ops."
