How to Use a Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller on PSP

The Dualshock 3 controller is a wireless controller made by Sony for the PlayStation 3. Unlike the previous Dualshock controllers, it is wireless and features motion sensing in addition to vibrational feedback. The PSP is a handheld game device made by Sony. It is possible to connect a Dualshock 3 to a PSP, but the user must have a PS3 and a PSPgo. The Sony PSPgo is a modified version of the PSP that features 16gb internal memory instead of a UMD disc drive.

      Turn on your PS3.

      Turn on your PSPgo.

      On your PSPgo, press the settings button. Select "Bluetooth Device Settings," then select "Manage Bluetooth Devices."

      Check the box that says "Register New Device."

      Select "Register a PS3 System Controller."

      Click "OK" when the PSP tell you that you need to connect your PSP to your PS3.

      Connect the PSPgo to the PS3 with the PSPgo USB cable.

      Click "OK" when the PSP tells you that you need to connect your Dualshock 3 to your PS3.

      Connect your Dualshock 3 controller to your PS3 with USB cable that was included with the controller.

      Wait for the prompt on the PSPgo to tell you that the pairing is complete.

      Disconnect the PSPGo and PS3 system controller from your PS3. Once the PS button on the controller is pressed, it will connect and control your PSPgo.
