How to Hook Up PSP to a PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 is a video game system that is capable of playing Blu-ray discs, connecting to the Internet and storing movies and music in addition to playing video games. The PSP is a portable video game system with similar functions that is also manufactured by Sony. Once connected over a wireless Internet connection, the PSP can access data from the PS3 in the "remote play" mode.

      Connect the PSP to the PS3 with a USB cable.

      Select the "Settings" menu on your PS3, then select "Remote Play Settings."

      Press the "X" button on the PS3 controller to select the "Register Device" option. When prompted for confirmation, select "OK."

      Scroll to the "Settings" menu on the PSP and select "USB Connection." Once the connection is set, press "OK" on the PS3.

      Scroll to the "Network" category on the PSP and select the "Remote Play" option from the list.

      Select the "Connect via Private Network" option, then confirm your choice by pressing the "X" button.

      Select the "PS3" option under the "Select Network" heading. Your PSP is now connected to the PS3 and can remotely access its files. You can remove the USB once you are connected.
