How to Install a Pandora's Battery Without CFW

The Pandora battery is a unique tool that is used by Sony PlayStation Portable developers to install new software onto the device. When the special battery is placed inside of the PlayStation Portable, the device turns on automatically and a special Pandora menu appears where you can install new software onto the device. You can make a Pandora battery without the need of a hacked PSP running custom firmware, or cfw. Custom firmware is another piece of software that can be installed onto the PlayStation Portable.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the battery from the PlayStation Portable and place it onto a flat surface. As you will be working with a sharp object, having stability will be key to you not cutting yourself.

    • 2

Hold the battery in your non dominant hand and locate the very thin seam that goes all the way around the battery case.

    • 3

Begin slowly running the knife around the seam of the battery. This is going to weaken the seam. Continue to do this until the top cover dislodges from the bottom cover of the battery.

    • 4

Locate the circuit marked "ICO4" on the battery's motherboard. There are four pins on this particular circuit. They look like small metal lines.

    • 5

Use the safety pin to carefully pull the pin up and off of the motherboard. You do not need to use a soldering iron to do this as the pin is very weak.

    • 6

Put the case back onto the battery and you will now have a Pandora battery for your PlayStation Portable.
