Patapon 2 Staff Types

"Patapon 2" is a video game developed by Pyramid Software and released for the PlayStation Portable in 2008. A sequel to the original "Patapon," the game sees players serving as the God of a tribe of Patapon warriors battling to find the mysterious "Earthend." As players progress through the game they will encounter a wide variety of staff types, each bestowing attributes upon the player and allowing him to cast various spells.
  1. Great Thunder Staff

    • The Great Thunder Staff allows players to cast two thunder-based spells. The first delivers a set of four lightning bolts which all target the same spot. The second releases a pyramid of electrical energy from the sky, attacking enemies across a wider area. Although the Great Thunder Staff increases a player's damage by nine hit points, it does reduce his speed by 20 percent. The staff is said to have been "forged on the summit of a thunderous mountain," according to the game description.

    Great Fire Staff

    • The Great Fire Staff allows players to summon a huge mass of fire that can be sent in an arc formation at opponents, damaging them and their surroundings. The Great Fire Staff increases a player's damage by nine hit points and raises critical and ignite ratios by 40 percent. "Patapon 2" describes the Great Fire Staff as harnessing the flames and magic from within a volcano.

    Mighty Pata Staff Kami

    • The Mighty Pata Staff Kami is a unique staff made to honor the Patapon tribe. It raises a player's damage by 15 hit points and also allows him to throw fireballs. It can create a defensive, barrier making players invulnerable to all opponents other than Hatapon, and can focus red energy on specific spots, causing significant damage. A player's critical ratio is increased 80 percent when using this staff.

    Wood Staff

    • This is the basic staff used throughout "Patapon 2." It's carved from the trunk of an unspecified tree and allows players to cast one of three spells. The first is a defensive spell that casts a white force field in front of players. The second enables players to shoot a green beam at opponents, causing minor damage. The third is a similar attack that shoots a small ice bolt at enemies, causing slightly more damage.
