How to Use a Sony Duo Pro Memory Stick

Sony's "Duo Pro Memory Stick" is the name of the memory card used by the PlayStation Portable handheld system. The handheld doesn't have any memory of its own to save game data; you will need to purchase it separately from the system itself. The memory cards come in various sizes so choose accordingly. There are third-party versions as well, and they will work, however, they're not supported by Sony in any way.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off your PSP entirely.

    • 2

Open the memory slot on the PSP. It's clearly labeled "Memory Stick Duo."

    • 3

Insert the memory stick into the PSP. You will notice one corner of the card isn't there; place this end in first. If the card doesn't slide in and click into place easily, flip it over and try again.

    • 4

Turn on your PSP and play a game. When it comes time to save your game, the PSP will use the memory stick automatically.
