The Sony PSP includes a Memory Stick slot for storing game saves and other data. While normally there's no reason to adjust the card once you've inserted it, the memory can become corrupted if a save process is interrupted or you use the card for other purposes, like taking pictures with a Sony camera. To restore function to the memory card, you'll need to format it, a process that can be done within the PSP hardware.
