How to Download Devhook on PSP With Firmware 5.03

Devhook is an emulator application for the PSP that allows a PSP running firmware 1.5 to emulate a newer version firmware, like 5.03. The PSP with the Devhook application handles firmware updates as if it were updating from any newer version of the firmware required for the update. Downloading Devhook to your PSP with firmware 5.03 requires the loading of Devhook and then installing the 5.03 update.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the Devhook application to your computer (See Resources). The download will be a compressed rar/zip file.

    • 2

Unzip the file, and open the extracted folder. Look for the "WinRAR" folder in the main extracted folder. This is the folder that is to be loaded to the PSP.

    • 3

Use the "Up/Down" and "Left/Right" arrow buttons on the PSP to navigate through the main menu to "USB mode," and select it by pressing the "X" button.

    • 4

Plug the PSP into the computer via USB port connection. Plug one end of the USB cord into the USB port on the side of the PSP and the other end into an available USB port on the computer. Once you connect the PSP to the computer, a folder for the PSP will automatically appear on the computer screen.

    • 5

Drag and drop the "WinRAR" folder into the "ROOT" folder inside the main PSP folder. This installs the Devhook application on the PSP.

    • 6

Download the firmware 5.03 update on your computer (See Resources).

    • 7

Drag and drop all the files in the "Firmware 5.03 Update" folder into the "Firmware" folder inside the main PSP folder.
