How to Make a Magic Memory Stick Manually

The Magic Memory Stick, which is usually the Memory Stick Pro Duo that's has been transformed to be used in conjunction with a Pandora battery to install custom firmware onto your PlayStation Portable, allows you to play homebrew games and install other applications that were developed by other PSP users.   1. Method One

      Download Pandora Universal Downgrader Easy Installer and extract its contents into a folder on your Desktop (see Resources). Double-click on the autorun.exe file to open the pop-up options menu.

      Press the "Go" button to begin the first stage of making the Magic Memory Stick. Connect your PSP with the Memory Stick Pro Duo inserted via the USB cable when prompted by the program. Search and select from the list of PSP drivers.

      Press the "Go" button. Press the "Y" key two times to format the memory stick. Restart the PSP and then select the final step on Pandora Easy Installer to install the Magic Memory stick files onto your Memory Stick Pro Duo.

      Exit the program when the process is completed and safely disconnect the PSP from the computer.

    Method Two

      Download and save the "MSM" Easy Magic Memory file onto computer (see Resources). Extract the contents into a folder on your desktop and connect the PSP to the computer using the USB cable. Click on the "Start" menu, select "Run," type "CMD," and press the "Enter" key to open the command prompt window.

      Navigate to the directory of the extracted folder by typing the command in the command prompt window. Type the "mspformat X" command to format your Memory Stick Pro Duo replacing "X" with the drive letter associated with your memory stick. Disconnect, restart and reconnect your PSP to the computer after the first step is completed.

      Enter the command "xcopy /KE ms\* X:\" to copy the MSM files onto the Memory Stick. Type the "msinst X MSIPL.BIN" command to install the files. Exit the command prompt once you complete the process and disconnect your PSP unit to finish creating a Magic Memory Stick.

    Method Three

      Download the necessary files needed to create the Magic Memory Stick (see Resources). Extract the Sony Official 3.40, 3.80, and 1.50 Firmware and rename the "eboot.pbp" files to its corresponding version name for the three file. Example, the "eboot.pbp" file in Sony Official 3.40 folder should be renamed as "340.pbp."

      Insert your Memory Stick into the PSP and connect it to the computer using the USB cable. Move the renamed files into the "PSP" folder of your connected PSP. Extract the contents of the "despertar_cementerio" file into the "Game" folder within the root of the PSP.

      Disconnect the PSP from the computer and select "DC4 installer" at the "Game" menu on the PSP. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the files on the memory stick. Reconnect the PSP to the computer and extract "timemachine_0.1.rar" files into the "Game" folder in the root folder of the PSP.

      Start the TimeMachine application from the "Game" folder on the PSP and install the IPLloader to MS file. Select the "Convert Pandora IPL to Time Machine format" option when prompted by the program. Exit once the process is completed and disconnect the PSP unit from the computer.
